In the heart of Penedès, in the heart of the country of cava, Julià & Navinés cultivates with sustainability criteria the key grape varieties to produce a collection of wine and cava defined by authenticity, expression and elegance.
The maximum identity of our terroir is represented by the triad of white varieties native to Penedès and traditional Catalan cava: Macabeu, balanced, fine and very suitable for long ageing; Xarel·lo, which provides structure, personality and a distinguished taste; and Parellada, fresh, deep, with a harmonious acidity. In addition to this triad, we use the aromatic and seductive Pinot Noir, an ideal base for rosé and blanc de noir cavas.
In the production of Penedès wines, in addition to the Macabeu-Xarel·lo-Parellada triad, we are committed to Mediterranean varieties, a perfect adaptation to the geoclimatic conditions that surround us: Red Grenache, Tempranillo and Syrah.
White variety originally from Penedès, very versatile for making still wines and sparkling. It brings notes of flowers and white fruit. We are passionate about its balanced character, which results in harmonious wines with a slight floral touch.
It is an old variety, from the highest areas of the Penedès, which brings personality. Softness, harmony, notes of fresh and fine fruit. Among its primary aromas stand out apple and lime.
The most known variety of Penedès and documented since 1785. Responsible for delicate wines and at the same time with a significant structure that brings freshness and versatility. Xarel·lo has a very defined identity, which combines classic elegance and unique energy.
Pinot Noir is originally from France but has been adapted very harmoniously to Penedès. Its grapes are produced as rosé wine and especially as sparkling wine as Blanc de Noirs. Our cavas with Pinot Noir shine for their finesse, elegance and subtlety.
